Spotlight Organizations:

Donors Choose
DonorsChoose is a nonprofit organization that allows individuals to support public school teachers and students in need by funding specific classroom projects. Teachers can create project requests for supplies, educational resources, or experiences that will enhance their students' learning. Donors can browse these requests and choose the projects they want to fund, with full transparency about how their donations are being used.

Since its founding in 2000, DonorsChoose has enabled millions of people to contribute directly to educational initiatives, helping improve the learning environment and providing students with tools and opportunities to succeed. The organization supports projects in subjects ranging from STEM to the arts and social-emotional learning, empowering teachers and enriching students’ educational experiences.

Toys for Tots
Toys for Tots is a charitable program run by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve that aims to collect and distribute new, unwrapped toys to children in need during the holiday season. The program was founded in 1947 and has since become one of the most well-known organizations supporting families during the holidays.

Toys for Tots relies on donations from individuals, businesses, and community organizations to gather toys, which are then distributed to less fortunate children to ensure they have a gift to open on Christmas. The program also promotes community involvement, with local Marines and volunteers helping to organize and distribute the toys.

Through its efforts, Toys for Tots seeks to bring joy and hope to children while also fostering a sense of goodwill and community spirit.

Meals on Wheels

The Meals on Wheels America is a nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing senior hunger and isolation by providing nutritious meals to older adults who are unable to prepare or obtain food for themselves. Founded in 1954, Meals on Wheels works through a vast network of local programs across the United States, delivering meals directly to seniors' homes.

In addition to providing food, Meals on Wheels also offers critical social connections, as volunteers often become a friendly face for isolated seniors. The organization relies heavily on community volunteers and donations to operate, ensuring that elderly individuals receive not only meals but also companionship and a safety check.

Meals on Wheels America advocates for policies to support senior nutrition, health, and well-being, working to raise awareness about the issues of senior hunger and isolation in the U.S.
